Lately, it seems we are in the season of personal dramas unfolding in public. You can read here about my analysis of the conflict between President Trump and Elon Musk. A few days ago, the news has been flooded with reports about a possible breakup between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. At the time of writing this post, I haven’t found any confirmation that the split has actually happened. Nevertheless, I thought it would be interesting to have a look at what the charts of the singer and the actor reveal. So today’s post will be a bit more tabloid-like.
Orlando Bloom’s birth chart
Orlando’s chart is rather balanced. It reflects Orlando following the potential shown in his nativity if he chose a career in film. In addition, the concentration of planets on the left side of the vertical axis indicates that Orlando needs an independence, has no problem being in the spotlight and is open to other people2. Such a need can certainly benefit a career in acting and Orlando is a well-known star, but will it support building a relationship, where compromise is sometimes crucial?
As mentioned at the beginning, his horoscope is balanced and so his temperament too. It’s difficult to define some specific humour based on his natal chart.
Katy Perry’s birth chart
Katy Perry has a very intriguing chart due to the placement of the luminaries and her Ascendant in Scorpio3. Additionally, all the planets in her chart are concentrated in just three signs. This horoscope shows a self-driven woman ready to achieve her goals and fulfil her dreams. She is willing to make sacrifices on that way and fully embrace the opportunities the world offers her. The concentration of nearly all planets in a single quadrant, particularly the one between the Ascendant and the Imum Coeli, suggests Katy has a profound need for independence, much stronger than her fiancé.
This chart is more strong compared to Orlando’s one. It reveals a person well-prepared for the world of show business or business in general. Her desire for success is so strong that it may affect other areas of life5. This is also reflected in her temperament, defined based on the natal chart. She has choleric-sanguine temperament. Would it be possible to reconcile ambition and the desire for achievement with building a relationship where one may not always be in the centre?
Synastry Chart of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
So how do these two match in a relationship? Well, in the synastry analysis, it appears that these two are quite compatible. Bloom’s Moon is in conjunct Perry’s Sun, whereas Perry’s Moon forms a sectile to Bloom’s Sun, and it supports stable and harmonious relationship.
Overall, their Suns and Moons form harmonious aspects with benefic planets e.g. his Moon conjunct her Sun forms the sextile to her Jupiter and the trine to his Venus. This is a very positive sign for a couple. It brings stable, calm and benefic aspects to the relationship. Now, it’s the time to refer to the reality. Based on publicly available articles, it appears that the couple has already been through some crises in their relationship7. One can now read that the singer’s professional setbacks are causing tension in the relationship, despite the actor’s support8 and it confirms what I mentioned above.
Finally, I think that even though their synastry shows a rather good astrological compatibility, temperament plays a crucial role here. No matter how good the match between them is, if two people have too different natures, it may be difficult for them to set aside pride and ambition to build long-lasting partnership. It may rather lead to frustration, but not because of lack of love or mind connection, but because of painful inability to live together.
