In the last week of April 2026, the royal couple, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, visited the USA.1 The media widely analysed and reported every step of the British Monarch, and his speech to a joint meeting of the US Congress is still a subject of further analyses. In this post, I am going to examine the potential sympathy or hostility between the two heads of state, the King and the US President, and whether they have anything in common.
The birth chart of the US President shows that he is choleric. The Sun in Gemini sextile to Mars gives him a sharp tongue and makes him being ready to argue. In addition, he was born shortly before a lunar eclipse in the fiery sign of Sagittarius. King Charles III is also choleric according to his birth chart. According to the BBC, His Majesty is very impatient, as his wife, Queen Consort, described him.2 It is not surprising since the King has the ascendant and Medium Coeli in the fiery signs of Leo and Aries. So, both are leaders who do not like to compromise.
Synastry
Based on the aphorisms 32 and 33 of Centiloquium by pseudo-Ptolemy, looking at luminaries, it appears that both figures do not have much in common.3 The Sun of Trump is in disjunct sign (Gemini) to the sign (Scorpio) of the Sun of The King. The same applies to the Moons – King Charles has the Moon in Taurus while The US President has it in Sagittarius. In addition, the Moon of one is in disjunction with the Sun of the other. Therefore, it seems both characters do not have much in common, however, their ascendants are in Leo, which indicates that there is a dose of some sympathy between those two.

Continuing with other planets, it appears that there is some compatibility in both horoscopes. Both figures have Mercury in water signs (Scorpio and Cancer), which indicates ease of communication and understanding between them. This is the most accurate aspect of personal planets in their horoscopes. Venus, in turn, is in Cancer in the case of Trump, whereas His Majesty has Venus in Libra, which means that this square indicates differences in terms of their value systems. Finally, Mars in the royal horoscope is in the fiery sign of Sagittarius, whereas in the horoscope of the US President, he is in Leo, which shows that these two can cooperate effectively. An interesting detail in this synastry is the royal Sun in conjunction with Trump’s Imum Coeli and Mars conjunct Trump’s Moon showing Trump’s admiration for British monarchy.6
Comparing the two charts it seems clear that the relationship between the US President and the King is pragmatic rather than friendship. Despite having less power in a political sense, the British Monarch represents values that are important to the US President.
