On September 7, 2025, at 19:30 UTC+21, we will witness one of the most beautiful spectacles at night sky – total lunar eclipse in the 16th degree of Pisces. The lunar eclipse phenomenon is often called the “Blood Moon” due to its characteristic colour and this time the spectacle will be visible from Asia, Australia, Africa and, what is the most important for me, from Europe, so it is worth saving this date in a calendar and planning an evening with a telescope or binoculars. I bet that the cloud cover will reach 100% in my location as usually on such occasions, but I have a hope that maybe this time it won’t happen. But for now, in this post, I will discuss the meaning of this upcoming eclipse. It belongs to the Lunar Saros 1282 cycle, which began in 1304 and will end in 2566. The previous eclipse of this cycle occurred on August 28, 2007 and the upcoming eclipse will be approximately the same in terms of Sun, Moon and Earth position so we may expect similar kind of events brought by this phenomenon.
But that is not the only interesting event in September. Two weeks later, on September 21, at 21:42 UTC+23, a solar eclipse will occur, but it will be visible only on the islands of the Pacific. The upcoming solar eclipse, in turn, belongs to the Saros 1544 that started in July 1917 and the last eclipse of this cycle took place on September 11, 2007 and at that time, it was visible from South America.
Both eclipses in 2007 preceded the signing of Treaty of Lisbon and China beginning to overtake Germany in terms of the strength of their economy. We shall see what kind of events they bring us this time.
Full Moon – Lunar Eclipse in Pisces

The eclipse will take place at 18:11:47 UTC. However, it is the full moon taken for the purpose of astrological considerations related to the eclipse. So first things is the planetary ruler of this eclipse. It is Jupiter of course because he has most dignities at the degree of the eclipse and aspects it by trine. Moreover, he is in Cancer – the sign of his exaltation, and he is a benefic planet which makes this eclipse not as challenging as eclipses are commonly believed to be. Both Cancer and Pisces are watery signs and the eclipse may cause different kinds of difficulties for individuals in areas related to law, science, religion but also may bring revelation of little scandals. This eclipse may be particularly difficult for those having Sun, Ascendant or Moon around the 16th degree of Virgo, Gemini, Pisces or Sagittarius. They may face dilemmas about what is their path to follow, what their real desires are, and, if they know them, whether they truly want to pursue them. In overall, a feeling of confusion. Intuition and manifestations can be very misleading.
China

Outer circle: Lunar Eclipse: 08.09.2025 02:10 UTC+8 Beijing
The eclipse over China occurs in the first house in opposition to Saturn in the 7th house of enemies in Chinese horoscope. Saturn owns the 1st and 12th houses, and he has no dignity in Virgo in the horoscope of China. This means, the eclipse may reinforce or prolong the general slowdown of the Chinese economy5. Jupiter, the planetary ruler of the eclipse, in the horoscope of the country, is in fall in Capricorn in the 12th house which highlights the issue with the stagnation mentioned. The Moon over the Descendant may cause wars or conflicts which may indicate a continuation of the trade war with the USA which has been suspended recently for around three months6. In addition, the Ascendant of the eclipse is in Leo, a fixed sign, which confirms the prediction about prolongation of the conflict. Worth noting is a grand trine formed by the Jupiter in Cancer, Venus in Scorpio and the Moon in Pisces – new opportunities may appear.
Ukraine

Outer circle: Lunar Eclipse 07.09.2025 21:10 UTC+3 Kyiv
The first thing that draws attention are the main axes in the same signs in both horoscopes – this will be a pivotal time for Ukraine in terms of a war taking place on its territory, and lack of any clear outcomes emerged from the Alaska summit7 won’t improve the situation. The eclipse will take place in the 2nd house of Ukraine – the house of resources and as we know the war is about underground resources of that country. The 2nd house is ruled by Jupiter same as the eclipse and Jupiter in the Ukrainian horoscope is in the 7th house in Leo, so Ukraine must rely on support from other countries and this may be the time of resumption of talks on Ukraine’s strategic resources. The ascendant of the eclipse horoscope is in Taurus – a fixed sign, which may cause slow progress in the peace negotiations with Russia. Yet, there is a grand trine between the Moon in Pisces, Jupiter in Cancer and the MC with Pluto in Scorpio – three dignified planets may help Ukraine to avoid being overpowered in challenging talks.
New Moon – Solar Eclipse in Virgo

September new moon in Virgo, in opposition to Saturn in Pisces, is a good time to pause and recharge. With Saturn in opposition, the ability to organise certain matters (which matters? It depends on the house placement in the natal chart) and the eclipse in Virgo will limit the ability to see what needs to be reorganised. So this might not be a good time to force yourself into taking on ambitious goals demanding strict discipline.
Globally, this eclipse may herald droughts and collapse in agriculture. Mercury – ruler of Virgo – is in the airy sign of Libra, where he is little dignified yet not receiving negative aspects.
New Zealand

As already mentioned, the solar eclipse in September 2025 will be visible over Oceania so it should not affect strongly countries in European region. However, the eclipse will be visible over New Zealand right after the sunrise at 07:10 UTC+118 over the east horizon. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a reliable horoscope of New Zealand, so I can’t compare it with the eclipse chart. Nevertheless, the eclipse chart alone provides some information about effects on recently started initiatives e.g. “golden visa”9 that may bring negative effects such increases in property prices (the Moon representing citizens is in opposition to malefic Saturn). Mercury – planetary ruler of the eclipse – may cause irregular extreme weather phenomena.
